Single Parents on Television When we ring about television families, it is usually the happy nuclear families with a Mom, dada, and a couple children. What if that family is not a full family and there is a paternal figure missing? Would missing a stir really come upon the way a child is raised? The realization of undivided parent families in eachday households is becoming more and more a worldly concern in the United States, and television shows are relating to this fact. The new trend in television is to have a single Mom or Dad facing the odds of single parenthood, while raising two-to-three kids, working at a full-time job, and still taking care of the household. The Parents Television Council reviewed every original series airing during prime time (800-1100 p.m.) on the propagate networks during the 2001-2002 television season. The analysis encompassed 119 shows depicting 150 children.
